Moved on? ....... yup, moved on. Took the long way round; and landed right back. In Indonesia.

Ter-balik. Kembali. Returned. This time Jakarta town.

And so .......... seems Blogging, is also on it's way back. [Into fashion once again], just like that. We can thank Instagram for that. Keep your eye on BLOG.STAGRAM. I think some interesting things are going to start happening there.

So, initially, I thought I'd post this big long list of all that's happened. Things I have/ haven't done, or learnt, or not (spanning my elapse). Will save us all a bit of time and just skip right over that.

So here we are. In Jakarta. On the edge of Christmas, the Rainy Season and 2014.

Let's do this! Let's see if any body notices - we're back.

Good to Go!

RED CALENDAR DAY

Red Calendar Day! That means Holiday (day off)!

Will tell you all the fish story tomorrow.

TODAY: Have a good one.

Good to Go!

KARTINI BATIK DAY

Hello sun shinny day. Ready to go.

So yesterday proved to be a bit of a challenge. All was going well until the whole world seemed to get a shook-up. Stop changing the rules people - I don't much like that. Stop moving your offices with out giving notice - I don't like that either. And please - if you say your going to do something - just do it! Enough said about that - sometimes a person's just got to rant a little bit.

Our plan is set for the Samarinda trip later this week - all geared up and ready to go do that. Tomorrow is the Croc Farm Field Trip - more about that after I actually do it. And very close to nailing down all the details for the Manado trip. Love it when a plan comes together.

TODAY: Today is a special day. Kartini Day in Indonesia - a celebration of sorts. The birthday of Raden Ajeng Kartini, (April 21, 1879–September 17, 1904) a prominent leader in the women's movement in Indonesia and a national heroine in fact. The government declared Kartina a national heroine in 1964 and every year since then, April 21st has been observed as Kartini Day. On this day, women in Indonesia celebrate her life and wear their batiks.

Book Club thing to do tonight. And I have in fact finished the book. Yeah for me in. Pat myself on the back.

And for the rest of the day - no plan just yet - but I have this feeling, as it always does, this day will soon get filled up.

Good to Go!

.... AND THEY'RE OFF!

So this week kicks off the official start of the CAMPAIGN of POLITICAL PARTIES for Indonesia's Parliamentary (Federal) Election coming up on April 9th. Everyday now, up until the 5th of April, each of the 44 different parties will take turns parading through the streets. Honking horns and waving flags and wearing their brightly coloured T-shirts in an attempt to drum up support for their favorite candidate.

So, officially what this means to all the rest of us is ........... be prepared to get caught up in the traffic. Plan your route. And there is an actual official schedule for all of this.

..... can you imagine having to choose between 44 official parties. Wholly smokes. The Jakarta Post had a picture last week of what the voting ballot looks like. It's huge, like the size of a poster in fact - I can't even figure out how they're going to fold it up to get it in the ballot box.

TODAY: For starters - well, no big surprise, the DRIP, DRIP is back. Yup, pretty much rained all night - and now the leak in the Blue Room is turning into a steady stream. Actually, I don't think it ever really went away - just stopped raining for a bit. The little drip is now even bigger than before. And the black hole, has in fact, more than doubled in size.

And, seems last month we paid someone else's house phone bill by mistake. So, need to get that sorted out. The office inverted the numbers (phone number) on the bill and so when we paid it .......... well turns out we paid the bill for some other house. What I can't figure out is why our phone didn't get cut off - there is like a zero grace period here for anything. In fact, if you don't pay the Indovision (Satelite TV) bill on time, a warning will scroll across your TV screen telling you to pay up or be cut off. Not a bad plan actually. No body ever gets behind on their bills around here.

Ok, so guess it's time to for me head out in tropical rain that seems to have NO plan of easing up. Stay dry everyone - good day for duck suits.

Good to Go!
